SOGLAD

SOGLAD is a Toronto-based professional organization for physicians and medical students who are interested in the health issues of particular concern to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. We address these issues through professional, educational, advocacy and social activities.

SOGLAD membership is open to any Ontario LGBT physicians and medical trainees (students, residents, fellows) as well as their partners. Allied health professionals are also welcome.  (There is also a nationwide network – our sister organization GLBT Meds Canada – which is open to any Canadian LGBT med students and MD’s in Canada or abroad).

SOGLAD events are announced by messages through an automated email list and through our Facebook group. If you would like to be added to our lists, please email info@soglad.ca and provide your name, specialty, the year you received (or expect to receive) your MD degree, and the city in which you practice or study.

The group is organized by an ad hoc steering committee responsible for organizing events and representing the group to the public. More details of how we function can be found in our Mission section.

Disclaimer: Please note that SOGLAD does not provide medical advice or provide referral to a LGBT doctor. If you’re looking for a LGBT-positive health care provider, please go to the Find a Doctor page on our website for other links.
